Iš Vilniaus viešojo administravimo istorijos: miesto architekto pareigybės klausimas (VXIII a. Vidurys – XIX a. vidurys)
Aivas RAGAUSKAS
Author declines the existing version that the Vilnius city architect office had existed in the middle of the 17th or the beginning of the 18th c. He comes to the conclusion that the Rason was a comparatively low Vilnius city public administration level and also dividing the territory into several juridical–administrative units. He affirms that on the state’s scale greater efforts to administrate the city buildings can be noticed only in the second half of the 18th c. In the “Four-Year” parliament time, a stricter constructional control was started, it was planned to centralize architect offices of the city, but it wasn’t made. The Vilnius city architect office was imposed in Russia’s ruling time – in 1838–1846.
