Vinco Mykolaičio-Putino meilės lyrika
Eugenijus ŽMUIDA

The article aims to reveal the theme of love in the poetry of one of the greatest Lithuanian poets of the 20th century.
Beginning to shape itself in early verses, love lyrics persists through the whole 50 years of extensive writing of Putinas and has its owns “history” and evolution. In the period of Symbolism, we could find three models of “Ewig Weibliche” in Putinas’ poetry. The virst model deals with the Earth as a mythological being of perennial fertility, youth and joy of life.
In the second model, the woman is seen as the main star of the night (verse “Stella Maris“), which contacts the hero and shows him the way of living. The third model, which became more and more dominant, has a clear intension to treat the woman as a real being. In the second, main period after the WWII, Putinas composed several cycles of verses and the poem “Žilvinas ir Eglė”. Now love is seen as a more and more important thing for the hole existence of the hero; female love plays a particularly important role, supports him and brangs meaning to life. There are few clearly seen parallels between verses and problems of the virst and second periods of writing and the love lyric of the world.
The love lyrics by Vincas Mykolaitis-Putinas is an eminent part of Lithuanian poetry.
