Teksto strategijos lietuvių modernistiniame romane
Nerijus BRAZAUSKAS

The article is basically aimed to discuss the text strategies used in the Lithuanian modernistų novel. The work is based on the historical and comparative method, W. Iser’s reception theory and G. Genette’s narratology. Modernist novels of the interwar, Lithuanian exodus and Soviet periods are analysed.
The phenomenological artistic world can be considered as the Western modernist novel’s common denominator. It is created by phenomenologist novelists’ attitude towards the reality, the concept of reality of fiction as a communication between reality and fiction, special text strategies, the conception of the novel as an aesthetic subject.
In I. Seinius’ novel “Rejuvenation of Siegfried Immerselbe“ (1934), P. Tarulis’ “Vilnius’ Cloth“ (1965), I. Meras’ “Strip, or Paris–Rome–Paris“ (1976) a fictive artistic world is created using description, depicting human consciousness (subconsciousness) and soul, the intertextuality and metaliteracy strategies. Their selection is predetermined by depicting human consciousness, expressing the character’s psychical and spiritual metamorphosis.
The strategies traced in the Lithuanian authors’ modernist novels allow stating that tiese creations can surely be attributed to model of the Western classic modernist novel.
