2007 m. Nr. 2 Integrated water and biodiversity
management in the Dovine river basin
In 2003, the PIN-Matra project “Management and Restoration of Natura 2000 sites through an Integrated River Basin Management Plan of the Dovinė River” (Lithuania), financed by the Netherlands Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, was started. The overall purpose of the project was to produce the management and restoration plan for the Dovinė river basin (total area 588.7 km2) as an input to the Integrated River Basin Management Plan of the Nemunas River Basin District. The main outcomes of the Management and Restoration Plan for the Dovinė River Basin are presented in the article. Keywords: the Dovinė river, Lake Žuvintas, Natura 2000, river basin management plan |
